Mojo

How to get it, How to keep it, How to get it back when you lose it!
by Marshall Goldsmith

Reviewed by Brian Beirl

Have you lost your MOJO?

The bestselling author of What Got You Here, Won’t Get You There, certainly hasn’t lost his.

“Mojo is that positive spirit toward what we are doing now, that starts from the inside and radiates to the outside.” From this rather general statement, the author builds a succinct plan for each of us to build and maintain our personal mojo, leading to happiness in our personal and business lives.

The book is organized in a logical manner that creates achievable implementation of his ideas.
The process begins with recognizing the state of our mojo.
Then we must address the four building blocks:

Identity: Who do you think you are? Achievement: What have you done lately?
Reputation: Who do people think you are?
Acceptance: When can you let go?

From there he provides a tool kit to help the reader enhance their mojo and presents us with two very simple choices:

Change yourself and your behavior or
Change it by changing your circumstances.

Marshall Goldsmith is a very successful highly credentialed executive coach who works with the leaders in business. In this very readable book we are exposed to some valuable and immediately usable information. I have a concern that this review has not done the book justice. I guess I need to work on my mojo.
